Out reach and engagement
Educating the public has a prominent place in the departmental development plan. Through it, the results of research by the members of the Department are made available to the academic community, experts and public. The policy is aimed at encouraging civic participation in political and governance matters, since, apart from disseminating academic publications - which often leads to difficulties in understanding for non-specialized audiences - it also deals with disseminating the results of research in a way that is accessible to non-specialized audiences. This, in turn, is expected to contribute to citizen access to relevant and quality information on issues of public interest, thus strengthening, expanding and deepening our democracy.
